Signal Conditioning Systems

Signal conditioning is the conversion of an electrical input sensor signal into another output signal within a system. The purpose is to either amplify or convert the signal in a format that is easy to read by the digital data acquisition system or machine control for accurate measurement and reliable process monitoring. Most analogue signals require some form of preparation before they can be digitised into a digital system, often to reduce noise and improve signal quality. Typical examples are amplification and filtering. The input types can be voltage, current, strain gauge (full / half / quarter), charge/IEPE, temperature as examples for a wide range of applications. Our signal conditioning systems are modular and can be expanded at any time within the same system architecture. Signal conditioning enclosures can be cabinet mounted or portable and have 16 or 32 module slots with analogue outputs. These outputs can be connected to control systems or digital data acquisition systems with built-in isolation for improved measurement stability. Our isolated universal input module supports a wide range of input signals with high bandwidth for demanding process and sensor applications.
